Step 1: Present a valid ID
- Click the identity verification banner on your Dashboard.
- Start the validation process.
- Select the country that issued your ID document.
- Choose the type of ID you wish to present (e.g., driver’s license, health insurance card, passport, etc.).
- Capture a photo of the front of your ID (automatic capture) and, if requested, the back (manual capture).
If the document is successfully validated, you will proceed to the next step. If not, you can either retry or return to the Nexam platform. Your identity status will remain "Awaiting validation".
✅ Best practices for successful ID capture:
- Avoid strong backlighting (e.g., windows or bright lights behind you).
- Hold your ID steady and slowly move it closer to the camera if the image is blurry.
- Ensure the full document is visible in the frame, with no corners cropped.
- Make sure you present a valid (non-expired) ID.
Step 2: Take a selfie
Center your face within the indicated frame and follow the instructions. Three photos will be captured automatically.
If the identity verification fails at this stage, you must restart the process. If necessary, you may need to repeat Step 1.
Step 3: Verification
The system will automatically compare your selfie with your ID. If the match is successful, you will receive confirmation. If the verification fails, your identity will be marked as invalid. You must then contact technical support at support@nexam.io.
Once your identity is validated, you can return to your Dashboard. Your identity will then be recognized automatically during your exam session.

➜ How do I know if my identity has been validated?
Once all steps are successfully completed, your Dashboard will display the status "Identity Validated" along with the validation date. Your exam will then be accessible on the scheduled date shown on your exam card.
➜ What should I do if my validation fails?
Identity validation is mandatory to access your exam. If you encounter the following:
- "Awaiting validation": ensure you have completed all the steps above.
- "Identity invalid": you must contact technical support at support@nexam.io.
ℹ️ About personal data protection:
Once your identity is validated, all personal data associated with your ID and selfies is automatically deleted. No personal identifiable information (PII) such as photos, names, or ID numbers is retained. Only a technical record of the validation (without any PII) is kept.
One anonymized, blurred selfie is securely stored and may be consulted by your exam administrator if needed. This data is automatically deleted when your account is removed or after 13 months of inactivity.
